Finance Department
The Finance Division provides financial services and accounting support for the City, the Redevelopment Agency, the Water Utility and the City's Special Assessment Districts. It is responsible for recording the financial activities of the City in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and standards of the National Committee on Governmental Accounting and Auditing.
Administrative functions of the Water Utility are responsible for - but not limited to - customer service inquiries, rate analysis, meter reading, customer billings, cash management, financial analysis, risk management, and liaison to field operations in construction of major capital improvements, infrastructure and ongoing operational maintenance.
The Finance Department has received numerous awards, including the Municipal Treasurers' Association of the United States and Canada Investment Policy Certification of Excellence, the California Society of Municipal Finance Officers Outstanding Financial Reporting Certificate of Award from 1986 to 2005, and the Governmental Finance Officers Association Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting for the fiscal years ended June 30, 1986 through June 30, 2006.
