Mayor Murray's Wildfire Town Hall Meetings

Images of the devastation of all of the fires burning in California, including the Canyon Fire 2 right in our own backyards, are heartbreaking.

Wildfires can occur anywhere and can destroy homes, businesses, infrastructure, natural resources, and agriculture, so it's important to always have a planned response.

The City recently joined forces with the Orange County Fire Authority and Tustin Police Department to host several community town hall meetings to address the importance of preparing for a wildfire.

Hosted by Mayor Murray and an expert panel from the Orange County Fire Authority and Tustin Police Department, the town halls provided valuable information such as:

  • hardening and protecting your home
  • areas of home vulnerability
  • preparing your yard
  • setting a plan
  • preparing your family and pets
  • emergency evacuations
The Orange County Fire Authority offers free home assessments to provide residents with the tools to protect your family, property and community from wildfires. To schedule an assessment, contact RSGOC@ocfa.org or to complete your own home assessment, visit www.ocfa.org/ReadySetGo.
