Fitness Awareness Week
Monday, January 8 through Friday, January 12, 2018. An activity
or special lecture is scheduled each day this week. All participants
will be given a Passport to Fitness, which will be stamped
at the end of each activity. The more stamps you receive; the
more chances you will have to win! Mark your calendars and
start the new year off right! Fitness Week is Free! Everyone that
participates will receive a Free t-shirt from HealthCare Partners!

Access Your Fitness
Monday, January 8, 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
Speaker: Marilyn Buescher, Parks and Recreation Supervisor
Location: Auditorium
Find out your fitness level by participating in a Functional Fitness
Assessment. We will test your upper and lower body strength
and flexibility. Wear comfortable clothing and shoes.

Walk with the Doc! & Healthy Eating Seminar
Tuesday, January 9, Walk: 9:00 – 10:00 a.m.,
Seminar:10:15 – 11:15 a.m.

Meet HealthCare Partners Doc and staff in lobby of TASC. Come
and enjoy a walk around the park and into Old Town Tustin.
Learn about the importance of walking and health. Please wear
comfortable shoes, light jacket and bring water. After the walk,
we will hold a seminar in the lounge about the importance of
healthy eating.

HealthCare Partners Testing
Wednesday, January 10, 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
HealthCare Partners will be in the Board Room performing
Glucose and Blood Pressure testing.

Learn to erase pain and tension in your hands, feet, neck, and
low back brought on by everyday stress, overuse, and age. This
simple self-treatment using small balls and soft rollers can make
your whole body feel better and provide relief from head to toe.

Join Cathy with an enjoyable chair exercise program that includes
aerobic, strength and stretch! After the chair class we will review
test scores and have an opportunity drawing.

Tipping Points for Senior Living – When to Make the Move

when seniors should consider making a move.This educational
seminar will provide you information on the pros and cons
of staying in home or not.

How to Read Nutritional Labels

In regard to nutritional labels on foods: where to look for the
serving size, calories and calories from fat, consumption safeguards,
nutrients and understanding label footnotes. What is
the percent of daily value?

Pain, Stress, Emotions and Arthritis
Wednesday, May 2, 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

Speaker: Mary Michaels and Barbara Jobes
Facilitator: Arthritis Foundation
Is designed to help people learn how difficult emotions such
as frustration, anger, fear, worry, and any other difficult emotion
aggravates the pain associated with arthritis. Topics
include: the ways arthritis affects the mind and body, how to
break the pain cycle and techniques for relaxation and stress
management. We may include a short muscle relaxation demonstration
if time allows.
