The Tustin City Council is currently seeking applicants who are interested in servng on the Planning Commission, Community Services Commission and Audit Commission. The City Council will conduct interviews and vote to fill the positions at a later date yet to be scheduled.
PLANNING COMMISSION: Three positions on the Planning Commission are available due to term expirations. The commissioners selected will serve until March 1, 2019 or until their respective successors are appointed and qualified.
The Commission meets at 7:00 p.m. on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month to evaluate development proposals and submit recommendations to the City Council regarding land use matters in the City. The term of office for a Planning Commissioner is two (2) years. Compensation is $150.00 per regular meeting. Applicants are required to be residents and registered voters in the City of Tustin.
COMMUNITY SERVICES COMMISSION: Three positions on the Community Services Commission are available due to term expirations. The commissioners selected will serve until March 1, 2019 or until their respective successors are appointed and qualified.
The Commission meets at 6:00 p.m. on the third Wednesday of each month and serves as an advisory body on recreation, parks, park design, facilities, and programs in Tustin. Community Service Commissioners serve a term of two (2) years. Compensation is $100.00 per meeting. Applicants are required to be residents and registered voters in the City of Tustin.
AUDIT COMMISSION: One (1) position on the Audit Commission is available due to a vacancy. The commissioner selected will serve until March 1, 2018 or until the respective successor is appointed and qualified.
The Commission meets at 4:00 p.m. on the third Thursday in January, March, May, July, September, and November. The Commission provides oversight on the preparation of the City’s annual financial audit and makes recommendations on the City’s financial operations to the City Council. The term of office is for four (4) years. Compensation is $100.00 per meeting attended. Applicant is required to be a resident and registered voter of the City during the time he/she holds office.
