BIOGRAPHY
PUBLIC LIFE
Council Member Ryan Gallagher, elected to City Council in 2020, was born and raised in Southern California and is a passionate advocate for fiscally responsible government, innovation, and supporting a vibrant local community in Tustin. His priorities while on City Council include

- Executing the Vision for Tustin Legacy
- Ensuring Public Safety
- Maintaining Sound Fiscal Policies
Council Member Gallagher represents the City of Tustin as a Member of the Orange County Sanitation District Board, Water Advisory Committee of Orange County, and Newport Bay Watershed Executive Committee (alternate).
Prior to joining the City Council, Ryan proudly served the community through his role on the Tustin Planning Commission.
PERSONAL LIFE
Council Member Gallagher is an owner of a civil and environmental engineering firm and previously served as Vice President of a nationwide engineering firm and Associate Vice President of a Fortune 500 global engineering firm. In his current role, he works with local municipalities to plan and design clean water infrastructure for delivery of safe and reliable drinking water to communities throughout Southern California. His work in this field earned his recognition as one of the top 20 engineers in the Country under 40 by Engineering News-Record in 2019.
Council Member Gallagher’s industry service and leadership includes past Board President of Orange County Water Association and past Board President roles for local chapters of Association of Water Agencies, American Public Works Association and American Society of Civil Engineers.
In his free time, Council Member Gallagher loves to travel, run, and spend time with his family, which includes his wife, three young children, and dog, Gus.
EDUCATION
Council Member Gallagher holds a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, and is a licensed Civil Engineer in the State of California.
