May 22, 2021, 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM @ Civic Center Parking Lot
The City of Tustin will hold its inaugural Water Safety Challenge to help educate the community about water safety and drowning prevention. Tustin is proud to partner with Stop Drowning Now and Blue Buoy Family Swim School to bring awareness to the issue, as most adults are unaware that drowning is the leading cause of accidental death in the United States for children under the age of five (drowning is the second leading cause of accidental death for kids under the age of 14).
The Water Safety Challenge will provide valuable water safety information, including rescue techniques and demonstrations of safety equipment.
Olympic gold and bronze medalist, Jessica Hardy, will also be in attendance. This event is for the whole family and the first 100 children will receive a gift card for a free kid’s meal at Chick-fil-A. Social distancing and masks will be required.
