Contract Instructor Opportunities

The Tustin Parks and Recreation Department (TPRD) is looking for quality, dedicated instructors to offer a variety of programs to our residents and surrounding communities.

The best contract instructor candidates are individuals who have a sincere interest in community service and a desire to supplement their existing income. Please note, classes designed to sell or recommend products from your business are prohibited. We recommend reviewing the Tustin Today Activity Guide to verify that a similar program is not already offered. The standard City split for contract classes is 65/35 when the class is held at a TPRD facility or as defined by the contract. Classes held at your own Tustin business are split 70/30.

Indoor Facility Space

Be aware that indoor facility space is limited and reserved for current classes. If you have your own facility, it must be in Tustin or within 5 miles of the City.

  • Please review the Tustin Today Activity Guide before submitting an application.
    • If we decide to select your proposal, we will notify you. Please review the Contract Instructor Application Deadlines before submitting an application and references. Class proposals submitted after the due date will be considered for the next session.
  • Make sure to include a resume detailing class experience, a sample class outline, and three references with email and phone number.
  • Download the Instructor Application (Fillable PDF)
  • Additional requirements if selected:
    • Insurance/Endorsements naming the City of Tustin as additional insured
    • W9 Form
    • Contact the Recreation Coordinator for information on fingerprinting

Submit your application in person, by email, or by mailing it to:
