Gym Rules

If any of the rules are broken, a warning will be issued. If rules continue to be broken, the individual or group will be asked to leave the facility for a determined period of time, the rules are as follows:

  • Hats may not be worn while playing
    • No Doo-rags, Wave Caps, or bandannas allowed in the gym
  • No food or drinks allowed in the gym
  • No gum allowed in the gym 
  • No profanity in or around the facility
  • No spitting on the gym floors 
  • No fighting or aggressive arguing
  • Shirts must be worn at all times

Open Volleyball

Spike with us on Wednesday nights from 6:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. for open volleyball. Participants must be at least 16 years old. There is a $2 per player charge for Tustin residents, and a $4 per player charge for non-Tustin residents. 

Please be prepared to show picture ID to verify residency. Program held at the Columbus Tustin Activity Center.

Open Basketball

On Friday evenings, Open Basketball is held at the Columbus Tustin Activity Center from 7:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Participants must be at least 16 years old. There is a $2 per player charge for Tustin residents, and a $4 per player charge for non-Tustin residents.

Free After School Drop-In Program

The after school program runs from August through May, although it does not meet during the middle school holidays and days off. It is a drop-in program that is free and non-custodial. 

Program History

This program started in September 2007 and will offer supervised recreational activities for middle-school aged teens from 2:30 to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. Our trained Recreation Leaders supervise all programs and activities, such as:

  • Arts and crafts
  • Games
  • Movies
  • Outdoor activities
  • Sports
  • Study sessions

Program Participants

The participants are encouraged to participate in all scheduled activities, but if they choose not to participate, independent activities are available. This program runs concurrent with the Tustin Unified School District school year. Participants will also have the chance to travel on excursions, attend dances, and simply hang out with friends in a structured environment. If the facilities Code of Conduct is not followed, participants can be asked to leave the facility for a determined period of time.
