On Saturday, April 27, 2019, beginning at 9:00 a.m., the City of Tustin, in collaboration with the Tustin Unified School District (TUSD) and students from Ladera Elementary, Thorman Elementary, Peters Canyon Elementary, Arroyo Elementary, Benson Elementary and Guin Foss Elementary, and Morsi Family are hosting Lemonade Day in Tustin.
Lemonade Day is a free, fun experimental learning program that teaches kids how to start, own and operate their very own business- a lemonade stand. Lemonade Day has spread to over 57 cities in 23 states and 3 countries. Last year, Tustin was the first city in Orange County to participate in this program.
Students participating in Lemonade Day in Tustin engaged in curriculum about entrepreneurship to learn the process of running a lemonade stand-from the accessing capital, to developing a marketing plan, to the day-of-operations.
The community will have an opportunity to support these businesses and purchase lemonade around town at different locations including Zama Tea, the Tustin Area Senior Center, Smart & Final, 17th Street Grille, Lafayette Plaza, the promenade outside of Union Market at the District, and outside of California Pizza Kitchen at the Tustin Market Place. For more information regarding the Tustin locations, please visit https://lemonadeday.org/tustin/stands-map.
Enderle Center and Liberty Tax were early sponsors and partners of Lemonade Day in Tustin. Their contributions supported the partnership with Tustin Unified School District to help make Lemonade Day a success.
Everyone is invited to come out and support these youths in a project that culminates their hard work to set a goal, plan, work the plan and achieve their dreams.
