On Tuesday, July 9, 2019 at approximately 8 a.m., Tustin Police Officers responded to the former Tustin Marine Base, in the area of Armstrong and Valencia for a report of a male subject attempting to enter a building on the former base property.
Upon arrival, officers contacted subjects inside the building and one subject was armed with a metal object. An officer involved shooting occurred and officers immediately rendered first aid. Paramedics were called to the scene. The injured subject was transported to a local hospital and is currently being treated by hospital staff.
There are no outstanding suspects and no danger to the community. The investigation is ongoing. Per department policy, the Orange County District Attorney’s Office is conducting an investigation into the incident.
