[ARCHIVED] All California Residents Ordered to Stay Home to Combat Coronavirus Spread

Last night, Governor Gavin Newsom issued a statewide stay-at-home order. The Executive Order is effective immediately and is in place until further notice and requires everyone in California to stay home except as needed to maintain continuity of operation of certain critical industries, critical government services, schools, childcare, and construction.

Essential local and government functions will remain open. The City of Tustin will continue to serve its residents with essential services. For City contact information, please visit: www.tustica.org/cityservices

The Governor’s order allows people to leave home for food, medicine, medical services, and other necessities. If you go out, keep at least 6 feet of distance between you and all other people.

What’s Open? 

  •  Gas stations
  •  Pharmacies
  •  Food providers: Grocery stores, farmers markets, food banks, convenience stores, take-out and delivery restaurants
  •  Banks
  •  Laundromats/laundry services

What’s closed?

  • Dine-in restaurants
  • Bars and nightclubs
  • Entertainment venues
  • Gyms and fitness studios
  • Public events and gatherings
  • Convention Centers

Do:

  • Stay home
  • Wash hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds
  • Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue
  • Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces
  • If soap and water aren’t available, use alcohol-based hand sanitizer 

Don’t:

  • Shake hands
  • Touch your face
  • Go to the doctor if you aren’t sick

There’s no need to be concerned about running out of essential supplies. Our stores are continually restocking vital food and goods needed for your families.
