Tustin City Manager Matthew West has declared a local emergency and ordered a curfew beginning at 9:00 p.m. this evening, May 31, and ending at 5:30 a.m. on Monday, June 1.
This order is in response to civil unrest in neighboring cities. The City of Tustin supports the public’s right to peaceably assemble and protest outside the curfew hours, but does not condone rioting, vandalism and looting.
During the curfew, all persons are prohibited from traveling on any public or private streets, alleys, parks or any public place accessible to the public. Those seeking emergency care, fleeing danger, experiencing homelessness, traveling to and from employment or religious services, are exempt. All law enforcement, City personnel, fire and medical personnel, as well as other personnel authorized by the Tustin Police Department and credentialed members of the services, are also exempt.
