Household hazardous wastes (HHW) are products that are flammable, corrosive, reactive, or toxic. It is illegal to dispose of household hazardous waste in any CR&R waste and recycling container. This includes batteries of all types and sizes.
Disposal Services
CR&R hosts two (2) HHW collection events each year for the collection of HHW items at no cost to Tustin residents. The collection events are generally scheduled in May and November.
The next HHW collection event will be held on Saturday, November 15, 2025, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Please refer to this flyer for more information about the event and the full list of accepted items.
Accepted Items
Acceptable items include the following:
- Automotive Fluids
- Batteries (other than automotive)
- Cleaning Products
- Fluorescent Tubes
- Heat Lamps containing Mercury
- Non-Empty Aerosol Cans
- Paint and Solvents
- Pesticides/Herbicides
- Pool Chemicals
- Thermostats containing Mercury
