The City of Tustin has been ranked No 1 in the state and 12th nationwide in Fortune’s 25 Best Places to Live for Families. In its study, Fortune analyzed nearly 2,000 cities and towns across the United States that best address the needs of multigenerational households.
Fortune’s analysis considered education quality, aging resources, general wellness factors, affordability, and livability issues such as crime rates, and diversity.
“We are honored to be recognized as one of the Best Places to Live for Families,” said Mayor Austin Lumbard. “Tustin is a place for all generations and every walk of life. We take pride in ensuring Tustin is a safe city with beautiful parks, diverse housing, great shopping, dining, a vital workforce and outstanding schools.”
A recent Fortune survey found that nearly half of Americans who are raising children under the age of 18 are also having to bear the responsibility of caring for aging family members. This group, commonly known as the “sandwich generation,” was the focus population used for the Fortune rankings. The cities which made the top 25, are most likely to have access to critical resources, community support, and financial wellbeing.
