Hazard Mitigation Plan

Following more than a year’s work by the City, a plan identifying the risks posed by natural and man-made hazards and ways to minimize potential damage is available for public review and comment.

HAZARD MITIGATION PLAN

The plan examines events of greatest probability in the region and identifies their impacts on public infrastructure in the City, including:

  • Earthquakes
  • Fires
  • Floods
  • Human-caused events (such as terrorist attacks)
  • Liquefaction

IMPORTANCE OF EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS

The document is a tool that the City and local agencies with infrastructure in Tustin can take to minimize damage and includes maps showing the hazards based on intensity. The importance of emergency preparedness and hazard mitigation cannot be underestimated, especially in Orange County where we are vulnerable to any number of natural disasters.
