Multi-Family Services Overview

The City of Tustin contracts with CR&R Environmental Services to provide exclusive waste, recycling, and organics services for residential, multi-family, and commercial accounts. They offer one-stop shopping for all of the City's waste removal needs, and help the City comply with State Laws, such as SB 1383. 

Multi-Family Collection Services

As mandated by SB 1383, all commercial customers, including multi-family properties, are required to participate in both recycling and organics programs. CR&R provides solid waste, recycling, and organics collection services to commercial and multi-family customers that are designed to meet both requirements for recycling and organics, while also meeting your space and waste generation needs.  Please contact CR&R at (714) 372-8272 to learn more about these requirements and to set up or modify service levels to best serve your community.  CR&R's sustainability team is available to provide additional education and outreach to property managers and tenants on-site.

In accordance with SB 1383, property owners and/or managers must:

  1. Annually educate employees and tenants on how to properly sort recycling and organic waste into the correct bins
  2. Provide information about waste diversion within 14 days of move-in date
  3. Periodically inspect recycling and organics bins for contamination and inform residents if bins are contaminated
  4. Provide trash, recycling, and organics containers that are accurately colored and labeled, and available for residential use
