
The Tustin Police Department Cadet program is comprised of part-time employees (ages 18 to 22) working in an apprenticeship position that allows them to prepare for a career in law enforcement.
Requirements
Each cadet must:
- Carry at least 12 units of college or university instruction
- Maintain a 2.0 Grade Point Average (GPA)
- Be of good moral character
Working Hours
Cadets are limited to working 1,000 hours per year (approximately 20 hours a week).
Assignments & Training
Cadets work in several different positions and rotate their assignments annually to allow for experience in the many different law enforcement duties. On top of their normal activities, cadets receive mentor-ship, classroom instruction, and hands-on training.
